A friend asked me to ask anyone who might know on this site. Where he might find some 220 grain 303 ammo in the Winnipeg or surrounding area. He has checked with the usual people ( Cabelas / Wholesale )? Thanks in advance for any info.

Unfortunately no companies except Woodleigh(very expensive) make the 215 grain 303 bullets anymore, you may luck out and find some reloading bullets or factory reloaded ammo at a gunshow.
You may try Steve over at 303british.com,he makes and sells a 200 grain bullet.

The heaviest bullet ever used was a 215 grain bullet. Dropped long ago. Tell your buddy that a 180 will do nicely for any game in North America. Accuracy will depend on the diameter of his rifle's barrel.
Like 303carbine says, Woodleigh is the only company making .312" 215 grain bullets and they're RN's. They run $34.49US per 50, Stateside.

Besides Woodleigh of Australia which 303carbine mentioned, bullet makers Rhino of S.Africa and Hawk in New Jersey, U.S.A make 215 grain bullets for the .303 British. They all have websites that will come up in a Google search.

As far as I know, no one is manufacturing ammunition commercially in .303 British with a bullet bigger than 180 grains. Your friend will have to make his own or find someone who will do custom reloading for him.

A couple of years ago I had the good fortune to buy from a member here 150 CIL 215 gr KKSP bullets which I am hoarding. Sorry. You never know what you might find at a gun show or garage sale, but then it's a one-off.

Thanks all for responses. But I seem to remember 220 grain back in the 70's. But I am older now and my memory may be off. I hear that is an age thing :)

Also I do believe it was Imperial Ammo.

174gr Hornady RN Interlock's or 180gr Sierras will drop anything in north america you point it at with dramatic results on smaller deer sized game... BUT if you really want to turn an enfield into a .410 slug gun then order up some 200gr .313 RN from thebulletbarn.com...
