I prepped a bunch of .303 British cases yesterday afternoon and this morning I was getting ready to resize them. The first one that I put into the reloader was a Berdan primed case that I hadn't noticed and it snapped off my depriming pin. It's a set of Lyman dies. Does anyone know where I can get replacement pins? Do I have to order them from Lyman?

I did the same thing last week with a Berdan primed .22-250 of all things. Be sure that you didn't bend the decapping rod, they are particularly weak where the expander button screws on. My problem was resolved with a call to RCBS and the nice lady wouldn't take any money even though I told her how the rod bent. Lyman has previously replaced things for me also.

The Lee decapping die is just the ticket. If it encounters a berdan primed case the one piece depriming rod 'rides up' in the collet. Just loosen the collet and reset the (unbroken) depriming rod. Simple, effective and inexpensive.

I had tightened the f**k out of my collet. When I accidentally put a berdan case in the Lee, it punched a hole through the case. Didn't even bend the depriming rod. Wouldn't try it again on purpose though.

RCBS
I broke the pin on my 303 Epps dies, and bent the decapping rod, using them to decap regular 303. RCBS replaced them free, and gave me extra pins to boot.
