303 british color marking

Are they a a bright yellow or more cream colour. Defence Industries (DI) loaded tracer with a white painted tip which seems to have darkened over the years to a cream colour.

Try this, I didn't want to hot link it so add a w at the beginning.

Yellow tip on Canadian .303 indicates a "Standard" round.

These are made to very close close tolerances and are used at the ammuniton production facility to check each lot of ammunition as it is produced. Each lot would be fired for proof against Standard ammunition to ensure that it meets specification.

One reference I have indicates that standard ammunition with yellow tip was head stamped 1942 DI VIIIZ and 1943 DI Z

Earlier standard ammunition was head stamped 19 DAC 17 VII S(in a circle), DAC 39 VII S(in a circle), DAC 1940 VII and DC 40 303 VII. I'm not sure if these had a yellow tip, I suspect not, rather the box would have been marked to indicate what the contents were.
