Does anyone know of a Side Mount for No4 Lee Enfield?

I have a Globeco No4 Sporter that's had the Top of the receiver removed so I can't use a top mount.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

UPDATE: Just Received the mount. Thanks Ron!

Here's a quick picture, I'll have some better ones posted once the rifle is completed. Thanks again for the advice and help.

Anything that will mount on a 94 Winchester will work fine. Just remember, you will still need to drill and tap holes to hold the mount against the receiver.

How about one of these:

Pretty high, but your handy machinist can fix that: mill a 1/2" by 3/16" slot (or whatever fits) down the side of the mount across that hole. Mill off the rings right at the top and bottom of that hole. Set in a piece of cold rolled 1/2 x 3/16 stock to align the pieces and silver solder back together with the cold rolled soldered in as well of course. Voila! Low PU scope mount suitable for Lee Enfield No.4. Check the height so you can use the iron sights with the scope fitted.

Mill the back of the base flat while you're at it.

Best of all, you can actually collimate the scope and the bore after you screw the base on; see my recent post. If your rifle is a Long Branch, you can use that bevel along the left side of the receiver to align the base.

Post some photos when you're done please.;)

There is the home made angle iron option. Fit a piece of angle to the receiver, drill and tap it for bases. Cheap and solid.
There is also the Williams sidemount system.

I think Brownells sells the Williams mounts. Brownells will ship to Canada, if the item is allowed to be exported, which depends on whether Williams has done the paperwork for that as manufacturer. I don't know whether they have, but Brownells will know so you can find out for the cost of an e-mail.

The Cad-Technik is another option, if you can find one. I have a couple and have been pleased with how they work on several No.4 and No.5 rifles I have owned, but I'm not sure if anyone sells them in Canada, or if they can be exported from the U.S., or even if they are still in production. You might find one used, but that's a matter of luck, same as the Parker Hale side mount which has been out of production for many years.

Someone was selling in the EE a homemade angle iron mount such as tiriaq describes, and I think it was there for a while. It might still be there.

I'll buy any of them, if someone has one. I found the Williams Side mount on a couple US dealers but they wouldn't ship to Canada. I'll try Brownell's next. Thanks again for the information!

Search "NavyShooter" He made about 9 or 10 nice mounts. I bought one and I think it would be hard to beat. I think he still has some in the EE way down in parts.

Blue Mountain Sports in N.B. carries a Parker Hale reproduction model that has a Picatinny rail on top and will take standard Weaver rings or Picatinny style rings. Available for both round side and flat side style Lee Enfield actions.
