hi, i am curious if i should replace or refinish the wood stock on my lee enfield. was curious what you guys would suggest. and if anyone knows of any sites that offer new stocks for a lee enfield. thanks mike

Photos or more details are required to answer that question. Is it the original full length stock? Has it been previously refinished or damaged?

I purchased a donor and kept the original stock in the event that someone is looking for an untouched matching original. Truth be told, Enfields are not that expensive and most don't have high collector value but I am obsessed with them all the same. I opted for a different look on my m4no.1 and picked up a synthetic stock from Marstar Canada for under $80. It is a perfect bolt on and makes the Enfield look like a modern hunting rifle. Hope that helps brother.

A lot depends on the model. Full military Lee-Enfield stocks are pricey and not exactly common any more plus models use different stocks. You won't find a brand new military issue stock. There are lots of aftermarket sporter stocks though.

You need to do an Enfield search on Ebay.

ok thanks for the info guys. it's a SMLE, the stock is fine it was taken very well care of, but saying that, the wood that goes over top of the barrel is coming off (loose) and i can't seem to find a screw or clamp on the rifle to hold it down. i do remeber hearing about a compnay in oz that made wood stocks for the lee, but can't seem to find them online,or any other company for that matter.so i wanted to now what options there are/were. but you folks mentioned fleabay a couple times, so i can take a look around there.
