303 British wildcats?

There is the 303 mag/Epps. I believe it was made by Epps

I have also seen a 22-303 and 25-303 as well.

I have a 6.5x53R Lee Enfield it's not a 303 wildcat but it's a 303 case shortened to 53mm and necked to 6.5mm

They also have 410 shot sells. That are a blown out 303 case used in lee Enfield converted to a single shot by prison guards in india

In Australia and in Canada, the .303 cartridge was wildcatted, necked up and down, body taper changed, along with shoulder profile and neck length.

Perhaps the limiting factor now are the rifles suitable for use with the rimmed .303 cartridge. There is also the cost factor. Unless you do the work yourself, such a project can get really expensive.

A member here was making a Ross long range target rifle. I believe he was using 6.5/.303.

I owned a 303 Epps for several years. I could reach about 2700 with a 180
grain bullet. [P14 Conversion]
I shot a couple of decent muleys with it. About what you would
expect from this size chambering. Dave.

The rifle is a 6.5-303 Epps. From the listing they say it's a Converted WW Greener 14g action.

That 6.5x53R sounds like a cool rifle!

Good to know! I guess it was like the 308 in the US? Plentiful supply of rifles and brass in that caliber.

That Ross sounds like a cool one!

I guy up here, a gunsmith, have one he made 35-303 or 375-303 or something like that!

They've been wildcatted in about as many variations as you could imagine.

If someone just must have a rimmed cartridge with 308 case capacity, it's a longer alternative to using the 307 Winchester.

When I was with CIL in the 60s, I recall we made 303-25 and shipped it to Australia. Was told it was for kangaroos.

I knew a guy in Australia who used one of those for pretty much everything he hunted over there. Pretty good round according to him, ballistically like a 25 Souper. Ken Waters did a 338-303 for an old WR rifle he brought back to life. - dan

I inherited a Martini sporter chambered in 303-338 AI. I was lucky to get a set of reloading dies as well. Lots of fun to shoot and the accuracy is good as well.

I had one of those at one time. I wonder if they were done by Epps??? I know that he loved Martinis, Lee Enfields, Enfields and Mausers.

I don't remember if he made mine or not. I traded it to another fellow decades back, because the recoil was vicious.

I believe mine was worked on by Ron Smith from Alberta. The action does not have any manufacture markings but it is a MKIII pattern commercial. The stock looks pretty old so I suspect it's been around for a while.
