303 British wildcats?

I do know 303 based wilcats were popular in Australia, think they had lots of surplus 303 military rifles back in the day.

Yes, and so did we. I recall walking into the army and navy surplus store in wpg as a kid and there were a couple garbage pails full of old 303's. $15 each. For a lot of us, those were our first "big game" rifles. No flies on the 303. South Africa had a lot them too. - dan

The 6mm Musgrave is actually commercially loaded by PMP (or at least was) so is a commercial offering in South Africa. They loaded a 100gr at a listed 2750fps.

Tons of different Lee Enfield modifications were done in SA, including things like .222 and .223 conversions (hunted with a no1 in .223). The latest Magnum magazine has a cool ‘Khaki Scout’ article: a no4 that looks like a 16” barrelled ‘full wood’ no4.
