303 british with 4198?

I confused 4198 with 4895 and loaded up 50 rounds of 303 with 36 grains of 4198. Anyone have any data on this combo? Looks like i'lll have to pull them and start over.

Start pulling. That's too much powder for even the lightest bullets (you didn't mention bullet weight).

I would think that 4198 would be much too quick for the .303.

Your 36 grains of IMR (or H) 4895 should be a nice, sedate and quite accurate load with the Sierra 180 flatbase. Also would be quite zippy with the Hornady 150.

Of course, you COULD run out and get a Ross, just so you have something strong enough to handle ANYTHING!

36 grains of 4198 will put you under max charge, even using a 123 grain spitz sp. Speer reloading manual #14.
