Have a Enfield .303 which I believe is a No4 Mk3.
There is a "T" stamped on the left side of the receiver.
There are pieces of a scope mounting arrangement still attached to the receiver.
Have seen pictures on the internet that look just like the mount pieces on my rifle.
These were on sniper rifles.
Would like to get the rest of the pieces so I can mount a scope.
Also would like to replace the rear sight as the fixed aperture has been removed, just the sliding piece is there.
Rifle has been "sporterized" as was common back in the day.
Will attach a picture when I figure out how.

Certainly looks as if it was a sniper.
The correct rear sight should be a Mk. I (click adjustable) with the fixed aperture milled off.
Definitely worth restoring. Please say that the barrel has not been cut.....
You will need the wood and related fittings, a No. 4 magazine (the one in the rifle looks like a SMLE magazine), a center swivel, and, of course, the scope and bracket. Repros can be had reasonably. The real McCoys will take your breath away.
Who made the rifle?
It won't be a Mk. 3. Either a Mk. IT or Mk. I*T. I suspect the former.

The sniper rilfles were often cut fore-ends when converted by the arsenal to the T model. At least any I saw in the armouries were cut.. "restoring" it would make it less valuable IMO... much like taking a 7.62 DCRa and "restoring it to 303"...:)

All No. 4T rifles were conventionally stocked. If you saw some that were half stocked, they may have been experimentals, perhaps fitted with No. 67 scopes. When was this? Were the rifles .303 or 7.62?
Restoring a sported rifle to original configuration is not going to make a rifle less valuable.
