Does anyone have a Canadian tin of WW2 vintage .303 grenade launching cartridges? I picked up a full tin at a recent gun show but the label was missing and if I can find a suitable photo I can make a repro label. My cartridges are dated 1941 but other dates will suffice as long as the style of the label is correct. Finally, the label was on the front of the tin and not on the lid like some examples I've seen. Anyone?

the label on the lids will be identical in script, message and size to the label on the side. Most cans came with both.

Well, maybe, but the spot where the label was located is framed by the remnants of the lacquer that I assume held it in place and it's a square shape that wouldn't fit on the lid. Maybe the label on this tin was not trimmed to size since it was being placed on the front. At this point I haven't seen enough to know for certain. If someone can provide a photo of the label from the lid that would suffice too.

What Mark of grenade discharger do you have and what is the quantity in the tin? There were a number of different labels used.

If you are not familiar with the types the colour coding will tell you:

Top half black - H Mark I
All black - H Mark II
Top & bottom thirds black - H Mark IV (yours are 1941 so will not be these)

Crap... I meant to put that in my first post. The tin appears to hold 14 rounds of H Mk I made by DI.

BadgerDog: that link appears to show an appropriate label other than there was clearly a smaller square label on the front of the tin I have. Anyways, that label will suffice.

Thanks guys!
