So bought a 303 British rifle, quite nice, bsa made, globe barrel…. After firing it the brass came out different than it went in… my friend Whynot noticed it right way… he said an improved 303! So what should I know about it? What load, what velocity etc etc

Think of your 303 Improved like any of PO Ackley's Improved cases but made in Canada, eh. Shorter neck, sharper shoulder, decimal place more powder, and of course - massive street cred'.

Do some caliper work to understand how much your empty differs from a specification .303BR. You may find it is a weirder wildcat than any of us are guessing.

And I seen it with my own eyes too. Always learning!

From what I hear people like the improved version….i know a guy and he loves it and won’t sell it …and he’s shooting 180’s flat base out of it and it performs very well

The only problem with the 303 “Improved” is they do not feed well from the magazine. Takes quite a bit of tinkering to get five to feed properly..

I have had a few of them over the years. One was a 25-305 Improved from Bevan King. It was deadly accurate but three was all it would feed well. It had a VERY straight body and 40 degree shoulder.

David’s cartridge is not nearly as straight.
