slightly different mags for the older rifles than the newer No 4 type.
Might be good to tell us what you have.

Like tootall says, which model? No. 1 and No. 4 mags are not interchangeable.

If all else fails call Complete Gunsmithing in St. John's, NL. Last time I was there they had quite a few SMLE mags.

Actually, No1 mags will fit in a No4 without problems. It won't work the other way around though.
