Simply because I'm curious....

Is the bore on these old rifles big enough to classify as an antique?

And, is this the same .303 British rd used in the Lee-Enfield, simply loaded with black powder, or does it also use a different bullet or case?

Can these guns shoot smokeless?

No, its not antique.
Standard .303, would have used whatever ammunition was issued. I would expect that the sights would have been intended for ammunition through Mk. VI. The very first version of the .303 cartridge was loaded with compressed black powder. This version lasted for only a very short while before Cordite became the standard.

Sorry not antique has to be 8.3mm or bigger re barrel to 45-70 if its a sporter

Re-bore to .35 Winchester. Less trouble.

If you have a collectible model, just sell it and dont ruin the value.
Regular 303 Br ammo is OK.... IF...the rifle is in good condition and not a Khyber replica.
