I have been told that the Canadian Forces tossed tons of this stuff into the sea off the West coast of Vancouver Island. :(

Two years ago at the Kamloops Gun Show a vendor had those crates for sale for $200. The tin box is actually just the insert liner for a wooden carrying crate.

If I recall correctly, there should be 480 rounds in the crate?

forgot to mention 1945 dated and i suspect there are 480 rounds in the can
anybody care to guess what the value is, is it more because of the can and still having a plastic seal.
belongs to a friend and he wants to sell it

Williams had some a few years ago $ 25 per box. About the only way to price up with the time open. That would be $375 for the lot

.65cents a round or so. Maybe up to a buck, but that's pushing it since you can buy new commercial stuff in that price range, and it's not corrosive or prone to not going off.

We tended to dump those liners in the trash. Probably still do. Usually they're plain tinplate but late ones are sprayed black and have the crate marking repeated on them.

I paid $25 per box of 48 for those same rounds last year at a gun show, now I notice they went up to $35. I think I will hoard mine and use handloads from now on:D
