just wondering if you guys have any information on this gun i will be looking for some replacement parts such as a stock its not functioning properly right now either any information would be helpful also i cant tell if it says model 1839 or model 1899 thanks..

Since Savage didn't offer a 1839 model, but did offer a 1899, my bet is that it's an 1899. Pictures?

I've got parts here but with old Savage 1899's some parts are alot different than others.

For example you'll be looking for two different size stocks if the gun is below or above 90.000 on the serial number, they also used different bolts after 90,000 as well.

Pics would be a plus or just p.m. me the serial number so I know what were dealing with.

1899. I've got my grandad's but next to no ammo :(..... My .02 ,they're great rifles and very accurate.

.303 Savage brass is still being made, so you can handload the ammo.

If you can't get proper .303 Savage brass, you can open up .22 High Power easily. The Europeans call this 5.6x52R, but it's the same thing. Bullet diameter should be .308.
