I was wondering if anyone would know where to find this ammo.Apparently it's now a uncommon caliber.:):)

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's common. Epp's lists it though. Doesn't say what brand. The shipping ammo to Labrador will be mucho expensive. You'd be better off reloading it. Remember it uses a .308" bullet. There's data on-line.

Thats right "uncommon" is the word I was looking for,I guess if it was that common I would not be posting to find them. Thanks sunray!

Load to .30-30 specs. I used to load 170 grain flat points same as the old .30-30 takes. .303 savage brass can be made from .30-40 Krag brass. The dies are cheap SIR lists .303 Savage Lee dies for around 30.00 . If you don't reload gun shows are usually a good source of brass.

cheers Darryl

I sent an email to Ellwood epps and 303 Savage ammo is $75.00 per box.:eek::eek:
That's one good reason to start reloading! :p Even with a premium hunting bullet your costs to reload wouldn't be half that. Only difficult thing you might have is finding the brass. Bullets, primers, and powder would all be something most reloaders would already have.

It's fun to handload so start doing it! You won't be sorry and will wonder why you didn't start doing it years ago! :D

I posted this for a family member who was looking for a few boxes to use for hunting.I been reloading a couple years now and I know it would not pay to purchase the dies and other stuff to load a few boxes.

"...ammo is $75.00 per box..." At least it's not for you and you can tell your family member something. Tell him about the dies he can buy.
"...would not pay to purchase the dies..." Loading one box pays for the dies. The bullets and primers are not special. Hornady($70.49US) and RCBS($136.95. Yeah.) make the dies. It uses a # 21 RCBS shell holder. Of course, nothing else use it too.

i have made the brass for the .303 savage from .30-40 krag or the much easier and cheaper to get .303 british.... even at the gun shows around this neck of the woods it is hard to get .303 savage brass/ ammo with out paying an arm or leg for it.
happy shooting
