This is a No 4 mag but has a different follower than the other Enfield mags that I have. Anybody know anything about this style ? The mag body has a 22 stamped on the side.

Thanks,

REM

Magazine for a C No. 7. If someone needs one, its worth more than a LB No. 4 magazine in comparable condition.

Answer to the same question posed by a different poster last March ... :D

Notice the carved out slot at the rear of mag for the fired .22 casings to fall through into the magazine well itself. As tiriaq said, the mag is worth a few healthy bucks to a C. No.7 Mk1 .22 owner.

"...quite so expensive..." Not many around anymore. All the No. 7's Cadets used to shoot have been chopped. Pity too. Friggin' things can drive tacks.

Have they? :( We were still shooting them at Air Cadets 6 years ago. Last I heard was that they haven't been shooting them, but they were still holding on to them.

Corps where I help out still has theirs, and shoot them from time to time. Spare parts are a real problem, a bent rear sight axis screw can get a rifle condemned.
