I have access to some FN made .303 surplus. I think the date is 1969 or 1964. What is a reasonable price per box of 100?

I've shot FN ball - both 50's vintage, and mid 80's vintage. Extremely well made. I still have some of the 80's vintage - it shoots as well as my best handloads in certain rifles, and generally shoots well in all rifles. This surprised me as it has a boattail pill. On the other hand the bullets mike in a .312-.313, which gives you a couple of thou over most milsurp.
The 50's stuff was corrosive, as I recall...

There is a seller at the vancouver HACS shows who has an ammo can full of boxed Canadian issue (Rangers?) 1980's issue .303. Mfg. by IVI if I recall.

How good is that ammo? What would a full ammo can of 400 rounds be worth?

Well, since it's stolen property, what's it worth to you? The IVI Ranger contract ammo has never (to the best of my knowledge) been surplused.

Stolen??? Probably not. just issued and written off as fired. the ranger in question probably shot a box and then went back to his 30-30. then the next year when he gets the next batch, he just gives or sells them off.
now if only i could find this guy......:)

Isn't that the same as stolen?

If I give away or sell the ammo I have been issued as a Ranger, I have stolen it. Plain and simple. I'd rather not get a visit from the MP's, who BTW, do monitor CGN.

"...IVI if I recall..." 80's issue IVI ball is reliable, but the accuracy is mediocre at best. I shot 1944 manufacture, "not for use in synchronised guns" (DVIII?, I forget) ball when I commanded an Army Cadet Corps in the early 80's and later 1980's vintage IVI ball. The difference was like night and day. The '44 ammo was by far superior to the IVI. The IVI was 100% reliable, but by far no where near as accurate.
Don't know from 60's vintage FN ammo(60's vintage FN anything tends to be very high quality), but I'd want to know how it has been stored for 40 plus years.
