.303 surplus

Probably lots of it someplace but shipping and getting it out of the country it's stored in would be near impossible. That and it could be WWII or even older.

I've heard stories that the Greeks have a pile of surplus .303 ammunition stored but I hold those to be as truthful as strippers who tell me they're just doing it to pay their way through med school.

At any rate, as stated above, surplus .303 in quantity has been gone for years.

Bummer you didn't buy it 25 year ago when it cost less than a bag of sand. Many people did, and stacked it to the ceiling.

"And there's your problem right there: any unicorn surplus which does show up is immediately sucked by the Americans."

Maybe, but you guys get the TTs without safeties, SVT40s, Chinese ammo, etc. It all evens out. ;)

One is further ahead to take up handloading. The 180gr Sierra bullet is a good one. Any of IMR4320, IMR4064, IMR4895, IMR4350, RL15, Varget, W760 or H414 are worth a try. Cases should be necksized after initial firing in order to prolong case life.

As always, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!

Keep looking. There is lots out there but you wont get a screaming deal on it and you probably wont find full cases of it. I recently purchased a bag of mixed surplus .303 at a gun show that had ww1 dated and some mk5 rounds in it in excellent shape. I think it was around 45 rounds for $15. In my opinion it was worth every penny.
