3030 Marlin 336 into 3030 AI

I'd like to tell you,you will not be dazzled with the AI over the standard thuddy. Some AI improved cartridges were a great pay off, but not as great with that one. A few FPS with heavier bullets. Buy a 308 and be a lot happier
I had two, one a 94 Win and the other a Marlin, rechambered by Paul Rogan here in Whitehorse. Paul sold the reamer to David Henry in Alberta.
Both rifles get 150 gr bullets well over 2600 fps with 150 gr bullets out of their 20" barrels. 170 gr Speers get way past 2300.
Velocities recorded over my Oehler Model 33. Primer pockets still tight after five reloads.
The 30-30 Ackley just simply works.

I prefer the Marlin action and other single shot actions for this conversion. I have also done a few of the Savage 340's. Where the Ackley conversion really shines in this caliber is if you can find a rifle with a barrel longer than the common 20 inch carbine. This will give you a fair bit more velocity. David.
