I was just on hornady website and thet are loading 307 win with 160gr ftx, good ballistics out to 300 yards, now I have to get one lol

Fantastic and thanks! I see it is already listed on Midway USA store site for 30.99 US. Sure hope the price is that reasonable when CDN retailers get some. $50 + a box for Winchester PPT and waiting for them to make some every 5 years sucks! If anyone sees it in Canada please give a heads up.

I was wondering if Hornady would ever consider the Lever evolution loads for the 307. It's something to look forward to when they arrive on the shelves in the north.

The semi rimmed 356 win was a better caliber than either the 307 win or the 375 win and it has been relegated to obsolescence by the shooting community.
Go figure.
Except for a small but loyal 35 rem following most of the 35s were non-starters.
A few die hards still have 358 win firearms and factory ammo for both the 35 rem and 358 win is still made by hornady.

I'm a die hard , I just finished putting a 358 Win together . The hornady 200 gr ammo shoots well , but I use Nosler 225 gr partitions in mine . A great round , but definitely not for the off the shelf hunter . I've used 35's for a long time with great results , but you're right , it's not a popular bore size . Excellent , more for me .

from what ive seen, I rekon the 35 Rem would of been a ripper round for woods hunting! I rekon it would be u my alley in a 336 or angle eject 94!
or #1
:D

I’m super interested in your project and impressed with your taste! Building a 356 has been on my list for a few years now. Can you share any details? What year of action did you use?

307 is interesting and a 356 is cool and the 375 is cool too. Why? these rounds didn't get accepted by a wider range of shooters is an unknown to me. I see the benefit in them as I do with the 358 Winchester and the 338 Federal. From a lot of years of shooting and seeing the effects on game of calibers of lesser power... I find there is definitely a place for them and if the right rifle at the right price becomes available... I would buy.

It's nothing fancy , but it works . It started life as a Stevens 200 in 7/08 in a nasty Tupperware stock . Rembo , from this site and a great guy , rebarreled it for me in 358 Win . I had an old Richards Microfit laminate stock that had been sitting in my shop for years that I fitted and I installed a Timney trigger . When everything was fitted up , a friend of mine and another CGN member , cerakoted it for me in a flat dark grey . It isn't pretty , actually it looks a bit agricultural , but it's a really handy and useful little rig . I guess I should take a pic and post it one of these days .
I also have Blargons old Remington 7600 that he rebarreled in 338 Federal . It's coated as well and he also put a Boyds dark grey laminate stock on it . There's pics of that one in the 760 club thread on this forum . I'm getting 1 to 1 1/2 inch 100 yard groups with this rifle and 210 gr Nosler Partitions , one of my favorites .

But it’s a blr. Like Volvo’s - “They’re boxy, but they’re good”. A M94 in 307/356 is ###y......and good.

I don't own either but on a practical level, the BLR wins hands down.

- Takes a mag system that works very well.
- Pointy bullets with a very good selection and heavier bullets
- 308 ammo everywhere from every maker
- 308 offers better ballistics
- BLR is made for scope use
- New and used BLRs are easy to find
