Hey guys and gals, i have recently been debating selling my .307, but i haven't really been able to find any that are similar to mine, that are for sale. I am wondering if i couldn't get your guys' opinions regarding the value of my rifle.

Thanks.

photos of my gun are here

You just might want to reconsider keeping this neat cartridge. Two bullets that would probably be stellar for the 307 in handloads, should be the 130 grain Speer for WT deer and for anything bigger, the 170 grain Nosler Partition designed for the 30-30.

my two bits

Edit: BTW, I viewed your pics. That rifle of yours appears to be real cherry and have been rarely hunted, & maybe never was??
Ballpark, 600 and a bit would be the lowest I myself would take if it was mine. I'm assuming of course the outward condition would reflect the inside of the action too.

I wonder what others think about that figure, a bit too low maybe?

Opinions please.....

should Hold some Value being a .307 cartridge... to the right people.
a general deer hunter wont see much value innit ;)

Leverevolution flextip bullets give the ol' girl a new outlook on life. They are available to buy as components. I emailed hornady , and they have no plans currently to load .307win so its up to the handloader to make her shine. My brother in law has one in equally good condition and he said $500. (family prices) plus he hasn't seen a box of factory ammo in 10 years. (main reason he may sell it)
Luckily , I reload!!!!

I've had 2 over time, both are now gone to new homes. I didn't really need them, have so many other's to hunt with. It was just my love for the 94's that I had to have one. I do enjoy tring out different cals. I believe I sold mine for $600 or a tad more. Yes, it takes the right buyer to be interested in them. I tried to trade one of mine off at a gun show to a fello exhibitor for a gun that I liked on his table, but he said when he was holding it: "all I see here is a nice rifle, but in a calibre that's going nowhere", so I FO'd from there with a sour taste in my mouth, ha-ha!

If it were mine I would ask for "$625 OBO" and be prepared to accept offers in the $550-$600 range.

theres ammo down here, but i would reload with the hornady ftx 160gr, it would be the same as a 308 marlin express

The idea of Flex-Tip bullets in the .307 is attractive, but be aware that if that had been possible, Hornady would not have scrapped their .307 plan and designed the .308 Marlin. They pushed the shoulder of the .307 case back 0.1 inch so they could have a short enough OAL to work through the Marlin 336 action. Their original plan had been to reintroduce the .307 as a Leverevolution round.

Just so y'all know i do load 160 gr FTX Hornady loads, and i love them for the gun, main reason why ide be interested in selling is because the gun is simply to perdy to take out in the woods, i know this may sound bad but i really do enjoy cleaning a rifle in this good of shape and i would really hate for it to get dinged or scratched during hunting season.

Sounds just plain wrong eh? A gun thats too perdy to take hunting...
