.308 & a model 88

Today I tested two loads out of my Win.88.
brass: Imperial
primer: Win. lge rifle
powder: Varget (42 & 44grs)
bullet: Rem. 165gr CL (bulk from WSS)
C.O.L.: 2.72"
Three rounds @ 100yds, with the 42gr load I achieved a perfect cloverleaf(1/2" group). With the 44gr load it opened up to an easy 2" group, needless to say, I am very sold on Varget

Congrats! It's been a while since I fired one, but if I recall the 88 has a difficult trigger, that may not be the case with yours. Very nice results for what is for all intents and purposes a solely a big game rifle.
