308 ammo cheap

Just a note to all that want this Czech ammo. It's corrosive witch mean that you should clean it after every use as people do with there SkS. Exspecaily if you live on the Wet Coast.
Now if it was $0.40 a round it might be worth it but since it isn't I would probaly stick with the MFS since you will only have to clean it when you feel like it and the accuracy is about the same & both are non-reloadable too. But to each there own and also Henry is really a class act and a true pleasure to deal with.

is his avatar "Bill the Cat?" from that old comic in the 80's that used to come in the weekend paper?
dealt with Henry a few times at gun shows and here..... good guy.
and in my opinion.... any 308/7.62 is worth grabbin as long as it goes bang..... it's been soooo fricken dry for ammo for the m14 for the past couple years...... cases are good to see. I'll probably grab at least one if i get to it in time :D

I bought a crapload (4800 rounds) of the Czech stuff about 15 years ago when it was $100 per 1000.
It is good stuff, but definitely corrosive. It comes in two types, a solid black primer, and a red ring of sealant around the primer. I didnt notice any difference between the two, other than appearance.
Now that I'm down to my last ~800, I wish I bought two or three craploads!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I try to treat customers right.
Still a few crates left. I just found out my supplier still has some left. So I won't run out right away.
I'll also be at the HACS show on the weekend with some.
Regards, Henry

Couple of questions: Apart from the barrel that needs to be washed down with hot water to remove the corrosive salts, which other parts of the rifle needs the same treatment? The gas system? That means removing the receiver from the stock...I usually don't do this after a visit to the range. Should this be done even when firing non-corrosive ammo?

SH.

These MFS .308 looks like brass case on the Frontier Firearms picture. Spoke with them and it's steel. They believe there's no lacquer.

Is there some lacquer on the case?
Is a steel case harder than brass on the extractor?

I'd like to figure this before feeding my dear rifle.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but note they are a FMJ bullet and therefore not suitable for deer hunting.

Yeah, so you will have to shoot your 1000 deer next year with something else.:D Sorry had to make a joke. Get the 1000 lot of FMJ and spend $20.00 on a 20rnd box for next years deer load.
