308 brass sized to 7mm-08

Seems I read on a thread here awhile ago you can use 308 brass and run it throught a 7mm-08 FL sizer to make 7mm-08. Is this correct?

Yes, but I believe that when you form smaller mouth diameter cases, neck thickness can become a problem.

You may have to also get the neck turning tool to thin the necks a tad.

one shot deal from 308 to 708. case will be a tad short but after a couple of firings will be ok. i never have had to thin the necks for a factory rifle. just don't tumble them with other 308 brass its a pain to seperate. i use different brand of brass so i can sort easily.

Thanks for the info. I will measure the length and wall gauge just to make sure. Friend as some excess 308 brass might as well put them to good use.

I would use a engraver pencil and remark the cases , just so there is no confusion as to what round you are loading in what rifle.Just a simple precaution, but accidents happen all the time.
