Is once fired surplus brass worth anything? i have some i will not be using and id like to sell it, but i have no idea what to ask for it. I was thinking of actually resizing it and trimming to spec...who knows maybe even selling it primed. I do not have a tumbler...to make it look new
What are your thoughts on this?
 
put something down and feel the number of flasholes- if there's 2, it's berdan and only worth SCRAP value to most of us, if there's only ONE, it's reloadable ONCE YOU REMOVE THE CRIMP ; typically, nost north american( canada , usa) is reloadable, and darned good thick heavy brass, alougth i have encoutered problems resizing it( esp ivi) in that it likes to weld itself to the die even if lubed- european tends to be berdan primed
 
If it's boxer primed Lake City or even Dominion brass you'll be able to sell it to the m1a crowd. I hear if you spend a lot of time with this stuff you can use it accurately in bolt guns. Mystic was talking earlier about how well it worked in one of his bolt guns, and I've had excellent accuracy with Dominion 1965 brass in my m305
 
If it's military brass the primers will be crimped. If you can get them pushed out without breaking primer pins, you will have to swage or ream the primer pockets to seat a new primer.
Also, military brass is thicker than domestic brass, so if you are going to reload it, start at 2 grains of powder less than the starting load and work up carefully, watching for signs of excess pressure.

I sold some SA surplus brass a while back for next to nothing. It was higher than scrap prices, but not by much.

I also have a pile of IVI 7.62x51 brass I got from a generous CGNer. I've yet to reload any of it (my AR15 gets an exponential amount more use than my M14), but I've been told by many sources that it's great brass. What it's worth I have no idea, IVI 7.62x51 doesn't come up for sale often... that said, I won't be selling this stuff anyhow.

Basically all my rifle brass is military surplus (even the 5.56x45). I use a Dillon Super Swage 600 to remove the crimped primers. Works awesome, and doesn't butcher the primer pocket.
 
It is always handy to have a lot of empty hand on hand, myself i have 7----- 5 gallons of empties differents calibers in my shed, everytimes i am at the range i pick up mine and a lot from other shooters, last week one of my relative asked 200 rounds of 30-06--180 gr SST loaded to spec, only have to resized, cut to lenght, put in the tumbler and prime that permit me to load at a cheaper cost... JP.
