I have a nice new Benchmark barrel to chamber for a PRS rifle. Nothing fancy, 700LTR donor in a Bravo Chassis with AICS patterned mags. Will a SAAMI reamer be good enough or should I go with a match reamer. Shooting mostly 168-175SMK's and 175Berger OTM. What match reamer do PRS shooter use in .308 (if there's any left) ? Would like to maximise accuracy without compromising feeding reliability. I can turn necks needed by.

Any help appreciated

Thanks.

SAAMI spec is fine. Talk to your smith and if they have something optimized for the bullet you want to run, go with that. If you have all the time in the world then turn your necks but honestly, it's not necessary for PRS. Assuming you're new to PRS-style shooting, you'll gain infinitely more by practicing shooting off barricades/props, etc with a sub-moa rifle than by taking the time and effort to refine your load down to 1/4moa. You're going to miss mostly on bad wind calls and bad trigger presses shooting off awkward props, not because of the minute improvements you get from OCD reloading processes like neck turning or primer pocket uniforming or whatever else you can think of, haha.

A good barrel with a straight saami chamber and straight ammo can shoot very well.

That same barrel with a match reamer will shoot more different bullets and loads with better precision overall and will be generally easier to find a good load for.

A Saami chamber has a very large diameter neck and if you are reloading you will be working the brass more than optimal.

The Bisley or GAP with 0.343-0.344 neck and 0.088-0.090 FB are good choices.

The M852 and M118LR are also common reamers and have more (~0.110+) FB
