Has anyone used them? Do you find that you no longer need to trim brass as often or FL resize them?

And... who carries them in stock? :)

Thanks!

What yomomma said. I just started neck sizing and won't look back. Literally ZERO brass stretch. I think I trimmed off maybe 0.002 thou off my last batch of brass and that might have been every 5 cases compared to FL sizing when you are trimming off 0.020. And the no-mess side of neck sizing is awesome. No more gross case lube.

For my F/Tr ammo, I actually set my body die to bump my cases 0.001 each loading, and I run my cases into it each loading, followed by the lee collet. My theory is the case is the same for each firing, rather than slowly grow and then get sized a bunch once the case requires resizing. The result is very straight ammo that is always a great fit in the chamber.

Cool. Now trying to find someone who carries them in stock in Canada is the next question. Might just have to get them from Brownells.

I haven't shot 4 reloadings worth yet through my brass. I am aware that I will eventually have to FL size. I bought my lee collet sizer from Henry Budget Shooter Supply the site sponser. He currently has them instock on his website for $42 plus shipping for the set.

Thanks Evan, I was trying to avoid having to buy an entire die set again. :p

Edit: Ok, which one of you CGNers bought the last Lee Collet die for 308 from Brownells?! They were in stock earlier today, now backordered. Grrrr!

Woohoo! Situation resolved. Thanks MPWolf!

Wanna trade some old beat up brass for a neck sizing die? Lol

Let me know how it works out. I have one that I borrowed off of someone at the moment. I tried it out on the weekend without success but I'm going to give it another go. My friends press is different from mine (his is RCBS and mine is Lee single stage) so I was waiting for a bit of a pop at the cam over stage that would have never happened with mine. I'm going to run some brass through it tonight to see how it goes.

Where did you end up getting yours ordered from? This shortage nonsense with tooling and even some components really irks me. :(

Haha, I've only got about 160 cases for my 308 and can't find anyone with fresh stock or selling 1st fired for a decent price with shipping 'cause it usually works out to what fresh brass would cost. So far I've just been buying cheaper brass cased plinking ammo like Remington UMC, S&B or Winchester stuff to get my brass. Works out cheaper for brass than paying what some folks are asking on EE. It's frustrating indeed! Can't find certain powders either. Hopefully stock starts flowing again soon but according to the LeBaron guy, they're not expecting anymore H4895 until Sept. Lucky I bought 3lbs that should last me.

MPWolf hooked me up with one else I would have been calling Henry at Budget Shooter Supply for the full LEE 308 Deluxe kit. Looking forward to trying it out when she arrives. Trying to think if I have any spent brass that I haven't already FL & trimmed to test out on. Need to shoot some more. lol

I would still recommend trimming your brass to a uniform length before running them through the collet die. Maybe I'm a bit OCD, but consistent neck tension is important to good ammo. Out of square case mouths, and varying neck length do not help this.

Try titan reloading. Their prices and shipping pretty much beat Canadian prices and they keep a lot more Lee stuff in stock. I like the idea posted about running brass through the Lee collet after FL sizing. I had the idea a few weeks ago and want to try it on a semi.

Most of my "normal" suppliers are out of stuff. That leaves Higginson's Powder this side ofte border. But if you're going to buy from Brownell's, buy from Lee Precision direct or from FS Reloading. If ANYONE has stock, me of these will.

Actually I bought two .308 Win LEE collet neck sizing dies at WSS. It's listed on their website. Just lookup the item #, call them and see
if they have stock.

Damn, WHY doesnt Cabella's or Wholesale sports carry these in Winnipeg???? I thought they would cater to the enthusiast, and .308 aint no super rare wildcat or anything!

I NEED ONE OF THESE!!! GRRRRRR.
