.308 CZ550 & Woodleigh 220gr

Developed loads for this bullet using Re15 and Re17. Followed Barnes reloading manual No.1 for reference. Objective is to equal the ballistics of my .30-06 Sako Bavarian Carbine with the Sako 220gr Hammerhead factory load which chronographed at 2425 fps muzzle speed from its 20" barrel. Nice rifles, either should be marginally adequate heavy game rounds at close range with 220gr bonded core bullets.

Objective met using Re17. The 23.6" barrel of the CZ550 Exclusive is an advantage. Results as shown with near maximum powder charges.

Win 760, H414, Ramshot BigGame will also give good results with the 220gr in 308. Not much will shrug off that round, nice accuracy too

1:12 twist rate of the .308 CZ550 Exclusive seems to adequately stabilize the Woodleigh 220gr RN SN. Berger twist rate stability calculator indicates it should.
