.308 Garand ammo ?

I know the 30-06 Garands require a round designed for the M1 Garand, but my question is do I need to shoot milsurp ammunition? I've found a flat of 155gr FMJ NATO, but I'm only wondering if there's other options.

Surplus .308/7.62 is fine in a .308 Garand. Find some of the Norinco or Hirtenberger stuff and you're GTG.

The .30-06 Garand needs specific loads as most .30-06 is made for bolt guns and produce much higher pressures.
