I have a Kraig I would like help identifying.

No markings on receiver
AA on cut-off lever
On bolt handle: cartouche, looks like a bird under which what looks like WBA84
On right side of barrel: Globe Firearms Ltd. Ottawa Canada
On left side of barrel: Special Boehler Steel 599 cal .308 Win.
On top of barrel: Made in Austria
marble rear sight
Sporter stock with raised cheek piece

There is nothing to indicate where the receiver was manufactured (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, USA?) or when. Would this be a commercially re-manufactured rifle or a custom job?

How safe to fire commercial ammo?

commercially remanufactured. Based on a Norwegian (I think) Krag receiver. Questionable strength. Lots of ppl fire them, personally I would not.

there is another thread or 2 on this exact 1 topic called exploding krag........a newfoundlander has a similar if not exact gun just look up the discussion this site ok? pictures as well.

Range Report:

I used H 4831, under 4000 pressure. Safe, but accuracy wasn't all that great. I got 3"-4" groups at 50 yds. That could likely be improved upon with a bit of experimenting but I doubt it will ever be a tack driver. The seller wants $225 for it. I don't think I'll bite.
