.308 load/ speed reccomendation For Moose?

Amazing. Now a .308 can't kill a moose! I was launching 165gr Partitions last year from my old '06. MV was 2500. 276yds on the rangefinder. Bull elk decided to lay down after travellingthe about 50ydsyou into the woodline with one through the boiler room. Passed through completely. I don't understand where you guys are coming from with this advice. Bearhunter has posted the correct answer. You need to be competent with your tools. That's it.
 
My bull went 50yds and died. No drama.

That said, I shot that load frequently at 300yds all year and used shooting stix for a rest, and ranged it first.
