hi all

I finally got into the .308 AR game. After searching high and low i found a few mags for it.

im looking for suggestions for reasonably priced mag pouches. what are yall running? these are 5/25 pmags.

i dont want to have to fight to remove mags from tight pouches. i also dpnt want to spend a ton on them if i dont have to.

thanks in advance.

The best "all purpose" mag pouch that I have ever tried is the HSGI Taco. Mine have worked well for the following mags:

AR 15
VZ 58
SKS (20 round mags)
M14 (both 5/20's and the AIA mags)
Ruger Gunsite Scout (10 round, both metal and poly)

They are not cheap - but they are cheaper than a separate mag pouch for each type of mag.

Their pistol mag pouches also work well for all of the double stack pistol mags that I've tried (Glock and HK, in 9mm, 10mm, and .45ACP)

HSGI Tacos, as suggested, are a great choice. Lifetime warranty. Multiple fit and bombproof. Not cheap, but then if you can afford a .308 AR platform and the ammo that goes along with it then you can afford a one time purchase of good quality nylon.

ESSTAC kywi
HSGI taco

Also, BGF makes a rig with there spendex looking fabric. Well made holds 4. Or a nice D3CR Heavy from Haley Strategic. It would probably fit in a D3CR without the mag inserts too

This. I run AICS, AR15, AR10 and M14 mags in Tacos. Most versatile mag pouches out there.

There are updated (green nylon) M14 type mag pouches (new surplus) available.

The ones i have carry 3 mags each iirc. Slower than tacos, but protect well from the elements.

I use a cheap pouch with a velcro flap I got from Colonel Mustard. It's just an ar one that fits 2 standard ar mags in one pouch. More than enough room for a single 25rd pmag.

I use US ALICE surplus pouches for 20rnd m14 mags. They are pretty cheap, online or even at princess auto where i got mine. Try to look at the belt attachment pins since some can be rusty. They hold two m14 mags (probably work for pmags too) in one pouch and the plastic seems solid to me

I don’t have any M14 magazine pouches of any kind. I sold them off and run HSGI Tacos. On my PR bag that’s carried to the firing line at PR matches I have both Kydex magazine holders by Grey Fox Solutions and Highlander Tactical. Both makers are fantastically manufactured.

You cannot go wrong with these brands!!

Cheers, Barney

Wow i havent checked back on this for a while. Lots to look at.

As for the mags, i bought a skid of them just in case. Glad i did....lol JK

I actually made an error. I got them from a retailer i cant mention here or it will be censored. But i didnt realized thwy were not in country. I got 4 ordered and have to wait until the June shipment. Womp womp.

I did score some 10 rd mags from The shooting centre. Duramags. I like the feel but never shot with one so we'll see how they work.

I got an email from TNA that said they were expecting some late may. Last i heard they may have some duramags in stock as well however that was a week or 2 ago at least.
