Is anyone out there interested in purchasing a 308 norma mag barrel off a parker hale and a set of dies and a bunch of brass? the reason I ask is, I would like to purchase a particular rifle and use the action for a custom build, but I don't know if anyone is into this caliber anymore.

Did you buy the one that was in the EE a week or two ago? I put an offer in on it too late. I'm am not overly interested in the NM... I shoot .308 Win and then jump to .300 WM... No real need for the peppy NM. Why doint you keep everything together... There is a "fair to middlin'" chance you will return it to original and resell in the not to distant future... If you are anything like me... And most of the other CGNers.

I have a lasting interest in the 308 Norma Mag....and I have 2 Parker Hale M81's so chambered.
How long is the barrel? Some early PH rifles in 308 NM came with 22" tubes....not great!!
Regards, Dave.

Is it off of a Mauser 98 action? I have a PH in .30-06, was hoping for 9.3x62 but might just buy a whole new rifle. .308 NM always interested me. Not sure if it's right for me though. Are they an easy enough swap out?

Have to open your bolt face or change bolts, then adjust for headspace. It's a great hunting cartridge, and even had some fans on the LR circuits back in the day. Ballistically, its identical to the 30-338, and treads very closely on the heels of the 300 Win Mag. I still have a PH Safari so chambered. - dan
