308 Plinker Load Question

Hi guys,

I was hoping to make up some of 308 plinkers out of some 150gr hornady FMJBTs and some Varget. The manuals I have don't have any Varget data for that specific projectile, and the ones that have Varget in a similar projectile are kinda all over the place...

For instance, Lyman says for a 155gr FMJBT to start at 43 minimum with a max of 48. Sierra says generically for any 150gr in a 308 start at 41.3 with a max of 44ish...

Does anyone happen to have a manual actually listing the 150gr FMJBT with Varget? If so, can you give me the published starting Varget load for it? I'm not planning on working up an optimium load, just want these to safely go bang so I can take a buddy out haha.

Hodgdon (makes Varget) has a 150gr .308 Win Nosler BT at 44 - 47gr max Varget.

Speer Manual #14 says 43-47gr max Varget for 150gr FMJ

150gr #3037 BT-FMJ

2300fps 35.9gr
2400fps 38.2gr
2500fps 40.4gr
2600fps 42.6gr
2700fps (max load) 44.9gr
