.308 rebore to .358

I think the times to maneuver such a feat has since gone past for the economic factor.
Might be just as reasonable money wise to pony up to another rifle.
Then you have one of each to compare targets with.

Adding a 358 Win to the crowd isn't considered a bad idea.
Least not in my opinion.

Yes, I do own both and wouldn't part with either.
 
The rifle in question would be an M14, which isn't available in .358 off the shelf. I've heard a sponsor offers custom calibre M14 barrels, so how much would that cost versus reboring the stock barrel?
 
Most re-bore jobs are going to run you $500 plus some shipping. A new barrel will be close to the same maybe a little less and you still have your old barrel. I would go new.
