Hey!

Just started to load some .308 in Norma Brass. My bullets are 168 Amax's. My question is: it is normal that the bullets seats veryyyyy tight in the neck of the case? I mean, the cooper thats jackens the bullet is a bit damaged/removed when seating the bullets. Little fragments of cooper are visible near the neck of the case after seating it.

Reloading 223 I never had that problem!

If it's problematic, what are the solutions? I guess I'll have to resize the cases, with raising a bit the sizing die?

Thanks a lot!!

Raising the sizer won't help, the expander ball sizes the neck on the upstroke. Do you have a nice chamfer on the inside of the neck, you don't need a lot, just enough to get the bullet started. I also dip the base of my bullets in mica.

It also depends on what type of dies you are using.
When using neck sizer bushing dies you measure the neck diameter of a loaded round and subtract 0.0015"-0.002" and that is the size of the bushing.

are you neck sizing or fl sizing
what dies
what is the inside diameter of your sized brass?
How many mils of tension do you have
is your brass chamfered.

all of those.
