OK. I am new to the precision rifle game. Just picked up a Browning X-bolt Target in 308, 28" bull barrel, 1:10 twist. To date I have only tried a couple of boxes of ammo. It loved the PPU 145gr. Several groups under 1MOA at 100yards. Not so much the Aguila 150gr, more like 2-3MOA. Anyway the questions. I will be starting reloading soon. Have loaded a lot of handgun and 223 ammo for my Ar15 so am pretty family with the general principles of reloading. I use a Dillon 550 which I realize is not that great for precision. My range is limited to 300 yards so I can't do real long range stuff. I am looking for some good starting points for reloading, bullet types, powder etc. I figure at these ranges lighter bullets are the way to go. I know the heavier bullets are better at longer ranges but at 300yards I figure a smaller faster bullet will be better. I would appreciate suggestions.
