The 300 savage, if it turns out to be that, is just as capable as the 308 that replaced it. It is however, somewhat harder to get ammo for. It's still in production, but you'll likely only find it in a gun shop.
The 308 of course is available everywhere.
These guns TEND to be reasonably accurate. (Meaning that not all of them are)
