Besides a Garand converted to .308 and M305/M14's, any other semi-auto milsurps out there? I'd like to stick to .308 ammo because of it's availablility vs 30-06, 8mm, 6.5x55, etc.

For $150 you can get setup to load your own.......
There are FN49's out there in 7.62x51, pretty uncommon though. AR10, but it's restricted status might not be what you are looking for.
Most of them are prohib......FAL, G3, etc

Your pretty much stuck with the SA M1A's & Norc M305/M14s's for .308 non restricted...There is the Finnish Valmet AK looking sporter type in semi auto...Rare & $$$

Not semi auto but milsurp Israeli K98's that they converted to 7.62 Nato are great as well. I love plinking with mine as well as hunting with it.

Steve,
Good advice, but I got one already. :) I like the rifle, but the sights not so much. On all the other European milsurps I have, I can use the 'v-notch' type sights with good results. On the K98 I find the rear v-notch terrible. I may get a mojo sight for it this spring.

I have the M1919 from Marstar in .308. It's non restricted, and if you use origional WW2 type belts, there is no mag/belt capacity restrictions. Pretty heavy, mind you, but think of it as a bonus work out.
As a more reasonable alternative, but not S/A, you could find an Enfield .308 conversion. Best examples are the DCRA conversion no4mk1 or 2s, or else the Ishapore no2As are well regarded. And 10 round mags go with both of these.
