308 Semi autos with STANAG

Yeah I like the Tavor 7 but im not to intrested in bullpups. I know the ATRS modern hunter comes in 308 too but it seems to never be in stock anywhere,

I don't know that the MH was ever "in stock" as they were pretty much all built to order. Both they and the Modern Varminter pretty much came to a standstill when the Modern Sporter came out. I don't know that the boys at ATRS had time to produce anything else.

Like has been mentioned, the Tavor 7 is about the only thing out there not on the Prohib list from the May 01 OIC

What's our options for modern semiautos in 308/7.62x51 that will take the the STANAG/XCR magazine?

Damn few since the pony cops illegally changed so many FRTs from NR to prohib. Funny how so many rifles that used STANAG mags fell under this unlawful change. Coincidence? I think not.

Is not the FN FNAR STANAG compatible?

apparently fnar and famae are too narrow to take a stanag mag (ie, you can't even fabricate an adaptor that would work). about the only way you get 7.62 and stanag in the same sentence is to shoot 300 aac or x39. or bullpup.

if you are looking at stanag to get more than 5 rounds of 308 (apparently justin has never tried to shoot a moose from a boat) then how about a garand? or, i've been looking at the promag mags for the aa700 - m14 pattern but narrower at the top (single feed designed for a bolt gun) - might fit in a fnar or famae with some magwell work if you had the coin and nads to try.
