.308 straight pulls?

Strasser straight pull rifles. Not sure if they're all that available, but someone was bringing them in last year (interarms maybe?)

Edit - didn't notice the forum we're in. Guess thats not what you're looking for...

Maple ridge arms who makes the Renegade are working on their big brother version right meow.

They had a teaser pic on Facebook today. Looks like a similar design as compared to their Renegade but possibly a taller lower to add in the bolt catch, which I am happy to see added. Not sure on the reciever length as I haven't counted the rails but was hoping for a more compact small frame 308 like the POF or F4 Defense.

Edit: I see 16 slots vs 13 on an ar15 or 18 on a Stag 10

You can if you're willing to sell just 3 kidneys

Can't be that expensive to buy a beater and get it rebarreled to 308Win.

That would make a nice rig. Spare mags are available, easy to mount a scope onto and the cartridges are close enough there likely wouldn't be much if any other changes need for the bolt face/extractor/receiver feed ramp.

I would likely take off the top handguard, or at least shorten it at the first band, along with the fore end. That way a heavier profile barrel could be used.

I had that alteration in mind a few years back, but the prices on these rifles, even a beater had gone through the roof.

I do seem to remember there were other issues I wasn't comfortable with tackling.

The extraction cams are on the barrel face and need to be shaped very carefully. The tenons also have two shoulders and the blanks have to be at least 1.45in diameter.

308 cartridges fit nicely into the magazine.

Rebarreling a K31 apparently is an adventure because of the machining required on the barrel shank.
Larry Racine of LPR Gunsmithing used to offer K31s rebarreled to .308. I understand that the original barrel shank would be converted to a bushing, and the replacement .308 barrel fitted to that. He also offered restocked K31s set up for US National Match competition. Some time ago, there was a flood of K31s available in the US at low prices. I've not seen cheap ones this side of the border.
A Ross can be rebarreled. No idea what has to be done to get the bolt to work with the smaller rimless .308 head, or what needs to be done with the magazine. One of these days, I'd like to find out if .307 Winchester will run through the magazine, and work with the bolt face. The .307 rim is smaller in diameter than the .303 rim.

not to hijack, but i was looking at the ross as i'd just got a combo that runs 12 gauge/7x57r was was looking for something - anything - else that ran the 7x57r. it's got the same rim as the 303 british so a rebarreled ross is in my future at some point.
