308 vs 303 bullets for 7.62x54

I have been spamming the reloading forum lately with my questions. Here i have another one

What do you guys use to reload your 7.62x54?
308 bullets or .311 303 bullets?

I shot factory .311 ammo and shoots great. how much would it change if i load 308?

I know some reloading manuals give loads for both.

has anyone tried both?

308 bullets might work ok, but probably won't, and almost certainly won't shoot as well as 0.310", 0.311", or 0.312" bullets in the 7.62x39, 303 Brit or 7.62x54R. You can use the same loads in all of them.

.308" bullets are the wrong diameter. Using a bullet that is 3 thou undersize will not be as accurate. 7.62mm's is the nominal bore diameter.
