I just picked up a new rem 700 5r and would like to get a couple boxes of good match ammo to try. One I have read good things about is 308 win 168 gr a-max superformance match hornady. Does anyone know where some of this is in stock to buy?
 
Haven't seen good results from the Superformance, but the stand match ammo with HPBT or AMAX shoots good.
Federal Gold Match is the best for factory ammo, but....$10 a box more these days
 
The Superformance is a hit or a miss, did check many over my P35 and the SD and ES are very high, that mean stellar accuracy is hardly possible with those, if you have to stay factory, sure bets are GM Federal 168 gr, Hornady Amax 155 gr Match and Nosler 168 gr Match grade, got many groups of .3 to .5 out of my Nemesis with the latter ... JP.
 
I've had good luck with hornady match 168 gr. friends have had better luck with the federal gold metal match. Any earlier that carries Leupold should be able to get you some. Korth imports it and is a wholesaler to the Dealers. Hornady is way behind on production and if you can't find any and if wholesaler s are out of stock it may be a year before you see any.
 
works well for me. Frankly getting your hands on Federal gold medal isn't easy. If anyone could tell me where I'd be willing to give it a shot too.
 
grouse river had some Federal Gold Medal Match .308 Ammunition - 168 Grain as well as Nosler Trophy Grade Match Ammunition - .308 Winchester - 168 Nosler Custom Competition and Barnes VOR-TX Ammunition - .308 Win - 168 Barnes Tipped TSX I ordered a box of each for some testing. They did not have any Hornady Superformance Match Ammunition - .308 Winchester - 168 A-Max in stock but would put it on back order.
 
I've had excellent results in my trg and t3 varmint using 168 amax tap. Was shooting under an inch, 5 shot groups, at 300m. Tore apart 10 random cases from a lot, consistent weight of 46 grns of what looked like varget.

Target Sports, one of the banner dealers on CGN, had a pallet of Federal GMM in stock the last time I was there....
