What are you guys using in your 308's for deer, moose, etc?

I'm loading for a friends Model Seven 20" barrel. Factory 180 gr. Cor Lokts shot 2" @ 100 yards. 165 gr. Nosler Partitions over 43.0 grs. Varget shot under 1", but speeds were down at only 2400 fps.

I'm loading up some 165 gr. Interbonds over 45.0 grs. RL15 right now, we'll see how they shoot.

I was just wondering what everyone out there is stuffing in their 308's. :D

I use a 165 Nosler Partition, Norma case, CCI 200 primer and 43.5 grains of IMR 4064. OAL = 2.810"

This load moves over the chrono @ ~2650 fps out of both my 20" BLR and my daughter's 22" Savage 110

My model 88 winchester likes H-4895 and the 165 grain hornady interlock btsp, consistant 1.5" groups at 100yds,average velocity is 2612 using 43.3 grains.Took a young bull last year with this load @ a pretty good distance aswell.

43.0 grs. Varget shot under 1",

Bump up the Varget maybe as high as 45.5 gr, watch for pressure signs.
While not a hunting load, I use 46 gr Varget with 155 moly bullets out of a 30 in barrel. Velocity is 2940fps.

tried the 165 gr. Interbonds over 45.0 grs. RL15 (R-P nickel case/WLR prime) and it shot good. velocity out of his 20" tube was 2680 fps avg.

should be a good hunting load :D

W748 will give the highest velocities in many barrels for 150 to 180 grainers. winchester power points are cheap and effective, my dad having taken deer (150 gr) and moose (180 gr) with them. I prefer the expensive bullets ... such as the new TSX's where magazines allow, partitions, grand slams.. You can't wrong with Ballistic Tips for deer, as long as you use hte "hunting" BT's adn not "varmint" BT's, with any calibre up from .243...

I know the gun you are loading for. (used to be mine!) I used 50gr of BLC-2 under a 150gr Nosler Partition, win cases and Fed 210 primers, and not only did it group under 1" at 100 yds, but it hit like a sledgehammer! It's a max load plus, but for that gun did it ever work!

I use 43g H4895 with 165 hornady BTSP's for 2650fps,

and 44g for 2690fps for good groups. Both shoot great out of my 20" barrel.

I tried up to 47g Varget, but didn't get the same velocity.
