Hello..
I have just purchased a sako modle 75 stainless for my daughter she is a junior shooter and i was just wondering if anyone out there has a reload that is designed for younger shooters.. I would like to keep recoil to a minimum for her..

Thanks.. Giver

The only problem is light loads might make for unaccurate loads in the 308.

maby you should trade in for a .223 , she will still be able to shoot accurate distance with alot less kick.

know what the barrel twist is on her rifle ?

34 gr 4198 with 110 horn rn
45 gr varget with 125 sierra pro hunter

Both very accurate out of my sons rem mod 600 in 308. Great choice in a very versatile light recoiling rifle caliber

If you go to hodgdon.com and click on the tab " data " then one of the selections is youth loads. They only use H4198 & you can reduce the powder charge safely by up to 40%.
Nice & mild and also accurate.

I tried them in a 300WSM in a Tikka and it felt like a .243 and went into an inch at 100 yards.

colinjw - don't you mean H4895 ?

You are 100% correct. I had a senior's moment. I spent all day doing income tax returns & I have numbers swimming in my head.
The load data sheet from Hodgdon says H4895 but my brain said H4198.

Sorry about that.

thanks for the imput fellas.. maybe we could refine this a bit. I would like to load 140 or 150 grain barns triple shocks for her she is gona be hunting deer with the Rifle as well as shootin paper.. You are appsolutly right 25 Tikka the 308 win is a very versitile caliber and also make a great ladies gun my wife shoot one in a Modle 88 winchester and she just love the gun.
