what is the standard load in a 7.62 nato round, and a 308 win round? im reloading for my M14 and semi 1919A4. just want to be safe, thank you for any help.oh and this is just for plinking,no match shooting.

The Nato Standard is a 147-grain bullet at 2,750fps. Note that this is fired from a 20 inch barreled gas gun in most cases. The same round (IVI) fired from a 30 in target barrelled bolt gun will give you around 2940-2960fps.

There is no standard load for .308 Win. However, you can load .308 brass for your firearms. You will have to work up a load for each one though. A load that will both shoot well and cycle the action of your M305 won't necessarily do so in your 1918.

Main thing is to use a fairly fast powder so the port pressure is not too high. Good powders are 748, 4995, Varget and 4064.

Bullets should be in the 150 to 175 gr range. I would avoid the hottest loads, to save the gun from a battering.
