where would a guy buy cheap bulk 125 gr 310 or 311 bullets in canada to reload 7.62x39 I know where the cheap powder is but can't find bullets.

Try wholesale but make sure you bring calibers with you. Last batch I bought from them was .308 diameter. Or you could give russels a try. I'm lazy so I buy factory ammo from Things Military up near Marlborough.

I already checked russels didn't find anything Im guessing wholesale might have them but they are most likely by the hundred pack so same price as 308 I might check with higgins they may have bulk I would like something by 500 or 1000 it's usually much cheaper a few years ago I was in New Hampshire they had some for around $45 per 500 and I don't remember how much for 1000 but it was cheap I just want something for plinking with an sks I don't need premium bullets and I don't want to buy that old corrossive surplus amo there must be some place to get some cheap.

With the price of bullets these days, you might as well buy a crate of milsurp ammo and pull the bullets.

reloading for sks is a waste of time when crates of surplus ammo is so cheap. plus the sks is rough on brass. Maybe for hunting you would want to load up some soft points but in all honesty plink with milsurp ammo.

thedanielm I know I can get cheap surplus amo but I really don't want to shoot it I like loading my own stuff even if it cost more I am just looking for a place where I can buy reasonably priced bullets if I can't find any I will buy the ones from wholesale for about $23 per 100 or if I can find the time I will make myself the proper dies to swage my own but that would mean many hours cutting draw dies for the jackets and the forming dies I am wondering how much speed you could get with hard cast bullets before they blow apart or need to be gas checked.

Higginsons has them for $15/100....123g FMJ.
Honestly though, as previously mentioned, reloading for this is costly and pointless while the cheap milsurp is available.

Hitzy I checked out higginson's web site and didn't find anything exept hornady do they sell other brands $15 per 100 is a good price are those hornady?

Yeah coyote those will be hornday fmj for that price, you can buy rem soft point from wholesale(18.99), allso sierra makes some too(over 20). Your best bet is probably the horndays from higginson's. Just email them and they will give you a price list. I have even loaded 100grain hpXTP from hornday in the 7.62X39mm(has to be fed single shot into the chamber). Now, if you could share where this cheap powder is I would like to know. I have reloaded for the sks, but for fun, and never shot anything larger than a coyote with my handloads. I would like a bolt action in 7.62X39mm one day. If you had a lead gas checked bullet in the 160 grain area or so I would think it would work fine with no leading in the bore, except maby the gas system may plug up.

I use the Sierra Ganme king in 125 gn, a .311 bullet which I feed through my 303 and CZ 527 carbine! Good stuff!

Big jd higginson has cheap surplus powder at least they did the last time I checked with them I bought some 4350 type and 335 type around $15 lb if memory serves me right I think 335 type would be good for 7.62x39 according to some loads I found.

Ahh yeah... I was looking for surpluss powder 30-06 3 months ago... they said they did not have any. The 4350 would work right? Now If I could only find some dam surpluss .30cal fmj tips I could fill the 1000rds of brass I got sitting here.

Big jd they had surplus powder for 30 06 a few yers ago it was 47N by nobel it was designed to shoot in 30 06 it was a 4350 type but I think me and my buddy bought the last 38 lbs you can check with them they may still have a few lbs kicking around they may also have a different surplus powder for it if they don't have 47N I have about 15lbs of it left but I would like to keep it it also works great in 300 wsm .

Marstar lists 308 110 gr FMJ's for the 30 carbine for cheap. Try a couple first to see how accurate they are in your .310 bore. You could probably patch them with teflon to increase the diameter, but that adds a lot of time to the reloading process.

Or you could cast, and shoot 150 or 174 grainers at 1800-ish fps

I just called higginsons they have 123gr fmj $135 per 1000 123gr sp $160 per 1000 wc735 surplus powder $14 lb big jd they have no surplus for 30-06 I think I will get my stock from them.

prosper how fast could you shoot 125gr cast bullets?

There's lots of magic involved in casting and shooting bullets at high speeds. It's not inconceivable that you could do 2400fps with cast, but it will require plenty of experimentation
