.311 sabot

Is there a .311 sub caliber sabot available for a .303? I've seen them for a .30 cal with a .22 bullet. Has anyone used them, and how accurate will they be? I thought I could turn my P-14 or my Lee enfeild into a psuedo varmint rifle.

AFAIK Remington didn't make the, and the only company that I know that still is ( www.eabco.com ) doesn't.

Try loading some hornday .312" 100 grain hpxtp, or the 80 grain if you want. I don't understand why people have this idea of varmin rifle that has to shoot fast light weight bullets... When controlled expantion rifle bullets work just as well... unless you have a problem with bullets going beyond the target(something I take for granted out here in sask... where there is loads of space)

You would have the same results with 30 cal sabots in your 311 as you would in the 30 cal for which it was intended. Worth a try if just for the fun of it.

I've never found any sabot maker offering products for a .311 bore, but you might try asking some of them if they would.

Use the 30 cal. With careful bullet- sabot alighnment they work.
