.32-44 s&w?

Hey all,

I was doing some reading on cartridges the S&W Model 3 were cambered in and came across the .32-44 S&W round. Not much was said about it, just that it was a target round.

So what can you guys tell me about this round? Sounds like it would make an inresting round to "antique status" somthing with.

It was for the .32-44 Target model, which was a .32 revolver built on the full size .44 (ie: No.3) frame. As I recall it had the bullet seated inside the case, kind of similar to the 7.62mm Nagant but without the heavy crimp.

The three cartridges on the right are original 32-44 rounds made before 1898. Next is a 32 long and a .45 Colt for size comparison. rigrat.
